Christina M. Thomas, Esq.
Christina M. Thomas, Esq. was raised in Montclair, New Jersey and is a 1987 graduate of Montclair High School. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1998, where she was a member of the Libel Show Junta, vice president of Virginia Law Women, involved with the Minority Affairs Committee, and an Editor of the award-winning Virginia Law Weekly.
She has an MBA from Georgetown University (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Pennsylvania (1991). She also attended Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut.
She has worked for President George Herbert Walker Bush in the White House Office of National Service, and was the founder of the National Center for Community Service in Schools and Generation X, for which she was awarded national recognition as a Youth Service Leader by President William Jefferson Clinton. She has earned countless other awards for her tireless volunteer services to her community.
She learned her trade as an attorney and was admitted to the New York and New Jersey bars while working for McCarter & English, LLP. She also worked for Corporation Counsel, City of New York. She has run for Mayor of Bloomfield, New Jersey and for Town Council in her hometown of Montclair, where she lives with her daughter and her two dogs.
She opened the Law Offices of Christina Thomas, a private practice firm with offices in Montclair, New Jersey and New York, NY, specializing in family law and legal malpractice cases, particularly those arising in the family law context.
Ms. Thomas has served on the Essex County Family Law Executive Committee and has been actively involved with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice since 2002. She is the 2004 winner of the Kuttner Pro Bono service award and has been a CASA since 1993. Since 1998, she has assisted over 216 families who have faced all types of complicated issues.
